The BBC’s Open Door programme was the first British television channel to broadcast a serious documentary programme about Shotokan karate. This programme, fronted by Bryn Williams was first broadcast in 1975 and shows Sensei Enoeda assisted by senseis Tomita and Kawasoe with displays by Dave Hazard, Jim Wilson, Pauline Fuller and other early Shotokan instructors. The programmes are introduced by Dave Hazard who was a long time student and close friend of Enoeda Sensei.

Each of the five DVD’s has added archive footage which will prove both interesting and informative. However, the main body of each programme is what makes these DVD’s invaluable to both the beginner and the black belt. Enoeda was a Shotokan master and his graphic display of basic and advanced techniques sets a standard that is a benchmark for all other instructional programmes.
