This landmark event brought together some of the finest karate exponents in the world.

The event, held in New York on the 24th and 25th of March 2001, was under the guidance of 8th Dan Abe Sensei, (Japan Shotokan Karate Association). The kumite was superb and dramatic - the kata was Shotokan at its very best. The USA managed to clinch victory, narrowly defeating the British FBSKU(i) team. The junior section, held on the Saturday, was also full of promising talent of the future. The event also featured an outstanding demonstration by 6th Dan Richard Amos.
