The idea of karate in the Olympics is the dream of many, but the dread to many other traditionalist's. Because the idea is obviously very popular, it may well succeed in gaining membership of the Olympic organization, and that's clearly good for the 'sport'. However, the fear remains that many of the original powerful and damaging techniques will be lost, sacrificed at the alter of 'sport' and entertainment'.
Is it possible to have two schools of karate; 'sport' and 'Budo'...? Only time will tell.
